You’ll find a multitude of facilities catering to your outdoor and indoor activity interests. From walking and jogging trails and outdoor soccer and tennis courts to picnic shelters, gymnasiums and indoor pools, we’ve got it all.     Alabama Gulf Shores/Orange Beach

    David L. Bodenhamer Center
    Beginning with David L. Bodenhamer, this recreation center offers many programs to the individual and family. With various memberships and pass fees, the center includes state of the art cardiovascular and selectorized equipment and free weights, a walking/jogging track, two racquetball courts, a gymnasium with a suspended hardwood floor, indoor swimming pool, locker facilities with saunas and a large gameroom.     George C. Meyer Park
    Located on east 24th Avenue, in beautiful Gulf Shores, Alabama, this 12-acre city park features picnic shelters, individual picnic tables, playground equipment, and a baseball diamond and horseshoe pits. Please call 251-968-4420 for more information.

    Johnnie Sims Park
    Located on west 19th Avenue, in Gulf Shores, Alabama, the Johnnie Sims Park is the largest Gulf Shores City Park. The park features a fitness center, Kids Park, 12 tennis courts, soccer fields, baseball diamonds, outdoor pavilion for picnics and concerts, and parking. The fitness center contains a full-size gym, and indoor track, a weight room, racquetball courts, an aerobics room, an activity area, saunas, and an indoor pool.     Kids Park
    The children of Pleasure Island designed this unique playground located within the Johnnie Sims Park. Custom-built by over 1,500 volunteers in under six days, our Kids Park reflects our community’s sense of pride and spirit. A gift to all the children and families who enjoy it, the playground is open daily and closes at dusk. For more information call the City of Gulf Shores at 251-968-4420.

    Lagoon Pass Park
    Located on west Beach Boulevard, west of State Highway 59, this park has access to the beach, parking and restrooms. For more information, please call 251-968-4420.

    Wade Ward Park
    Located on State Highway 59, north of the Gulf Shores Public Beach, this walking park features a pavilion, benches, and a raised boardwalk that meanders over the wetlands. The view here is simply spectacular and a MUST see! For more information, please call 251-968-4420.

    Gulf Shores Public Beach
    Located at the end of State Highway 59 where the highway meets the Gulf of Mexico, this beach area offers parking, boardwalks, restrooms, showers, picnic areas and four pavilions. Seasonal parking fees may apply. Please call 251-968-4420 for more information.

    Orange Beach Recreational Center
    This recreational center features fun and games for the whole family. Children’s activities include a weekly summer camp, youth sports and after-school and school holiday programs. Senior programs offered are arts & crafts, bridge and painting. Outdoor facilities include tennis and basketball courts, ball fields and a playground. The pool is open from Memorial Day through Labor Day; Monday–Friday, 1p.m.-6p.m; Saturday 10a.m.-6p.m; Sunday 1 p.m. - 6 p.m. Call 251-981-3819 for more pool information.
